The plot for the new Middle School in Erbusco (Italy) is adjacent to the existing Elementary School. Interpreting the school as an example of openness and integration, the entire school complex has been designed to be permeable from North to South and vice versa, through a covered path characterized by a distinct color (blue), which is likely to foster a symbolic sense of attachment to the institution.

The new school is located on a slope and ensures a direct relationship with the surrounding outdoor spaces. Its heart is a double-height central area lit by zenithal light, from which classrooms, laboratories, and the library overlook. Here, a double tribune (designed in the same color as the roofing of the external path) connects the two levels and provides an informal social space: a spatial landmark, a meeting place for students and teachers.

The key feature of the external spaces is a covered sports field. In line with the project's overall intentions, it offers an outdoor, covered space and promotes social activities, including with the nearby elementary school. This space is also accessible from the outside during the school’s closure periods, making the campus a solid point of reference for the Erbusco community.
