The project for the new nursery school in Monza (Italy) is characterized by the repetition of pitched roof volumes: the project is driven by the desire to recreate a sense of domesticity. The resulting volumes' length is designed to respect the buildable area and safeguard the existing trees. The pitched roof also allows for the optimization of the photovoltaic system installed on the south-facing slopes and illuminates the interior spaces through skylights located on the north-facing slopes.

The classrooms are arranged in six identical modules: the direct view of the garden strengthens the children's connection to the outside world and encourages outdoor educational activities. The interior spaces are characterized by great flexibility of use: their easy reconfiguration, made possible by movable walls, promotes interclass and extracurricular activities, opening the new architecture to the entire community.
